Promoting The Historical Resources of Audubon SC’s Silver Bluff – January 2019
As a red-tailed hawk soars above a place, what would it see if it could travel through time as well as space?
That’s the question I asked at the Beech Island Historical Society. My focus was on Silver Bluff, the SC Audubon Society’s remarkable nature sanctuary along the Savannah River. I’m on contract to identify, help preserve, and promote its historical resources, which span the last 11,000 years. What might that hawk have seen? More to follow.
Hats off to Jackie and Benny Bartlett, Sharon Richardson, my son George, Kenny Jarrett, and many others, including all those in attendance — you were an excellent and thoughtful audience and I thank you all.
